Manito Park’s Rose Hill

One of the eight official trial gardens in the US and Canada, the Trial Garden is sponsored and maintained by the Inland Empire Dahlia Society. The garden is grown from tubers sent by dahlia growers from the United States and around the world. The dahlias are scored by official judges of the American Dahlia Society, to determine introduction into the ADS Classification Book.  Dahlias receiving between 85 and 100 points are included in the annual classification book. Once a dahlia passes this rigorous judging it become available for purchase by the general public. Planting is done in late May or early June, and plants begin blooming in July.  August and early September are the best times to view the garden.
